Holy is a 100% plant-based ready meals company and we are revolutionising the approach to plant-based food and nutrition. Our ethos is that the best way to fulfil your nutritional requirements is through a plant-based diet. We want to break the strongly embedded misconception in society that vegan food is not tasty, and bring to the market delicious and fully nutritional vegan meal plans serving breakfasts, lunches and dinners.

Our goal is to help people transition to a vegan diet, to enjoy the many health benefits of plant-based eating, and of course, at the back of our minds is the never-ending mission to help the planet and save the animals. The project is set to start in London but will expand throughout the UK & Internationally. You’ll be working with seasonal, local and regional ingredients in a company that really understands the importance of getting food right.

We are looking for a hard-working, enthusiastic and experienced chef who shares our values & is passionate about our mission. The ideal candidate will have a real passion for plant-based cooking and will strive to become a valued leader of our team.

This role is 40-60 hours a week, with a varied work pattern including evening and weekend shifts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organising the operation of the kitchen

  • In charge of stock ordering, cleaning, staff rotas, food production

  • Overseeing the quality and consistency of all the food production

  • Coordinating with the packaging team

  • Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to train the chef team

  • Manage food costs and portion control

  • The opportunity to contribute to recipe development

Essential Skills / Attributes

  • Catering experience and professional training

  • Passionate about food and vegan cooking

  • Organisational skills and the ability to run a kitchen in a clean, professional manner

  • Must have strong leadership skills

  • Ability to use initiative

  • Enthusiastic with a positive and can-do attitude

  • Strong attention to detail, a good eye for quality and accuracy

  • Able to work under pressure and be adaptable

  • Good understanding of plant-based ingredients

  • Minimum of current Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2

Remuneration

Depending on experience - from £35,000 per year plus performance bonus of up to £4,000 pa
